Our Story
MyThingz was born from a simple but frustrating truth: most people struggle to keep track of life’s most important documents and assets.
Between scattered papers, buried emails, and forgotten receipts, staying organised is harder than it should be—especially when you need those things most.
35 Years in the Making: Our Why
With more than 20 years in the New Zealand Police and a 16-year background in insurance, our co-founder Ray has seen firsthand just how devastating it is when people can’t prove what they own after disasters like theft, fire, or floods, or sudden death. He’s stood alongside families picking through the pieces, only to discover they can’t find the right records for insurance claims—turning an already stressful time into an even bigger headache.
Ray knew there had to be a better way. That’s why he co-founded MyThingz: to give everyday Kiwis a simple, secure place to store vital documents and prove ownership—so they’re prepared, protected, and supported when life takes an unexpected turn.
What started as a practical Kiwi idea is now growing globally, with our launch in Australia just around the corner. MyThingz is here to make sure no one’s left sorting through the rubble alone—because when you’ve got your things in order, you’ve got one less thing to worry about.
